Ahi Tower, Red Mountain or Densetsu Roll: what to order at Densetsu

At Densetsu, these three dishes start with different combinations. Ahi Tower stacks tuna, crabmeat, avocado and rice. Red Mountain Roll builds on a California roll wrapped with salmon. Densetsu Roll combines shrimp tempura and spicy tuna with seared albacore on top.

If those names are on your shortlist, the ingredients below can help you choose. All three carry the menu’s raw-or-undercooked and spicy markers.

Ahi Tower: tuna in a stack

Ahi Tower is a layered dish, rather than a cut roll. The menu lists tuna, spicy tuna, crabmeat, avocado, rice and tobiko, served with house special sauce.

Choose it if you are looking for the tuna-and-rice combination and prefer a tower to a roll. Tobiko is part of the listed dish, so mention it when asking about ingredient changes.

Red Mountain Roll: salmon around a California roll

Red Mountain Roll has a California roll at its center, wrapped with salmon and topped with spicy tuna. It comes with house special sauce.

This is the choice to look at if both salmon and spicy tuna are what you want. It shares the house special sauce with Ahi Tower, but the roll format and salmon wrap make it a different order.

Densetsu Roll: tempura, seared albacore and two sauces

The namesake roll contains shrimp tempura, spicy tuna and cucumber. Seared albacore, avocado and crunchy onion go on top, with Japanese mustard and eel sauce.

Choose it if shrimp tempura and the onion topping appeal to you. The words “tempura” and “seared” do not make this a fully cooked choice: the menu still marks the roll as containing raw or undercooked ingredients.

Before you decide

For a tuna tower, start with Ahi Tower. For salmon wrapped around a roll, look at Red Mountain. For shrimp tempura with the mustard-and-eel-sauce combination, look at Densetsu Roll.

If you want a dish without raw ingredients or need a substitution, ask the staff to help you choose from the full Densetsu menu.
